Digital Asset Management for PFls - the Balfour Beatty Experience

Balfour Beatty Infrastructure Services (BBIS) currently runs three PFI street lighting contracts in South Tyneside, Sunderland and Derby, managing over 100,000 lighting and signage assets. With projects of this scale the need for electronic means of data collection is obvious - benefits include reduced administration, increased operational effectiveness and accuracy of data. Therefore, in the last two years the company has expended considerable effort on assessing systems to manage and collect information electronically out in the field.rnBBIS evaluated a number of available data management packages but, in the end, it continued to partner Mayrise, which provides the asset management solution for each of our concessions. The solution the company offers is an excellent match for our requirements, while its overall attitude to its clients, and the continued development of its product range, cemented the choice. BBIS had considerable contact with Mayrise, offering feedback and suggestions in order to refine the company's technology to meet the needs of the street lighting PFI contract.
