At last we are pleased to carry our promised survey of the issues surrounding LEDs and their increasing use in street lighting (page 30) - this will soon be followed by a major cross-industry report on LED specification standards in general, which will be launched at the ILE's Bournemouth conference in September. A summary of its content was given at the ILE/Surveyor seminar in early June - our report on that event can be found on page 12.rnPedestrian and cycle-way lighting gets less than its fair share of attention in these pages, so a report (page 24) of recent research into the lighting of Milton Keynes' unique 'redway' system of joint walking-cycling routes - and proposals for their improvement - is very welcome.
