Durham Castle and Cathedral Lighting on Track

Bright lights will be shining around two of the most historic buildings in the City of Durham as improvement works began in July on the floodlighting of Durham Castle and Cathedral. The new lighting schemes resulted from an open competition, publicised in Lighting JournalIn 2009 and 2010. The Bishop Auckland company, AK lighting and Signs, has been selected to carry out work on the exterior lighting of the buildings, funded by Durham County Council. The improvements will feature 'intelligent lighting' which can be controlled from one panel and dimmed or raised depending on need.
