OBITUARY

It was sad to learn of the death of Brian Ruston on June 15,2012, at the age of 80 years. We send all our condolences to his wife Beryl and two sons, Paul and Simon. Brian was President of the Institution in 1980/81, after serving a number of years on the Council. He also served on the Technical Committee for a number of years, eventually becoming its Chairman. Brian also represented the Institution on the County Surveyors' Society Street Lighting Sub-committee for ten years, eventually becoming the Secretary. He also served as a member of the Department of Transport/Local Authority Street Lighting Sub-committee, where his forthright views were often heard.
