WORKING ARRANGEMENTS

The Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations 2006 (TUPE) does what it says: it protects employees. It does this by ensuring that in certain circumstances, the employment of those affected by a business transfer continues on the same terms and conditions as applied before the transfer, albeit subject to some exceptions. It is worth noting at this point that TUPE protects employees, and genuinely self-employed individuals working in business for themselves are unlikely to be covered by TUPE provisions.
