With more than 900m of deep water quayside, the Port of Nigg in the Cromarty Firth, Scotland, caters for some of the world's largest vessels, and is a linchpin facility for the renewable energy sector and the North Sea oil and gas industry. The harbour comprises an industrial multi-user facility providing manufacturing and support services to a range of energy sectors. Back in 2015, the port undertook an extensive £20m redevelopment project. This involved resurfacing of the entire length of the quayside front and adding a new West Finger Jetty to the complex which, of course, needed to be illuminated.
