摘要

TDEM sounding is a powerful tool for use in oil and gas exploration. Its strength lies in the fact that when the observed transient magnetic induction is normalized to the integral of the transient induction, most possible errors of measurement including the static shift, cancel. The usual accuracy of measurement of a TDEM curve is currently about two parts per thousand. With such accuracy, interpretation, either by inversion or transformation, can be accomplished with far more resolution than is possible with other electrical sounding methods.
