2030 Climate and Energy Framework

Last October, the European Council agreed on a common plan for climate change and energy use, the 2030 Climate and Energy Policy Framework. The 28 EU Member States set the targets in three areas: reducing greenhouse gas emissions, increasing the share of renewables in the mix, and increasing efficiency to reduce energy consumption. After hard and long, often difficult negotiations, the Member States finally reached an agreement, setting the trajectory for climate and energy in the European Union for the next 15 years.
