National Wetlands Awards ELI honors eight conservationists; Grumbles cites resource as U.S. natural history, climate future

The annual National Wetlands Awards celebrated its 30th anniversary on May 7 in Washington, D.C., by honoring eight conservationists who are fighting to enhance this dwindling resource. Keynote speaker Ben Grumbles, secretary at the Maryland Department of the Environment, said that not only do wetlands help tell the natural history of the United States, they also have a role in climate mitigation.
