Friends, colleagues, the engineering community and the wider construction industry were deeply saddened by news of the recent death of Joe O'Donovan, one of Ireland's most distinguished and esteemed engineers who has literally shaped our national landscape with the unique vision of his iconic bridge designs. The poignancy of his passing was underlined by his burial on the very day he was to have formally received the chain of office to mark commencement of his term as President of the ACEI.
