Conference highlights engineers' role in Ireland's recovery

Despite the difficulties and challenges caused by Eyjafjal-lajoekull, the Engineers Ireland Annual Conference 2010 delivered a highly thought-provoking programme with a range of national and international speakers and attracted an attendance of over 300 delegates, including a strong Cork contingent.rnIn his opening address, reflecting on his year as President of Engineers Ireland, Dr Chris Horn noted that we have seen failures in our banks, in financial regulation and planning, in corporate governance, in political oversight, in some of our hospitals and in the Health Service Executive.
