Grid25 to create 300 jobs

Grid25, EirGrid's plan to upgrade Ireland's national electricity grid, will create up to 300 additional jobs over the next five years.The launch of the Grid25 strategy in October 2008 was one of the biggest announcements regarding national infrastructure for many years. The programme involves doubling the capacity of the national bulk transmission grid by 2025.It represents an investment of €4bn for the electricity grid, and the building of 1,150km of new power lines while upgrading 2,300km of existing lines.
