Irish Cement engineers a sustainable future

Irish Cement Ltd, a CRH subsidiary, recently completed the construction and commissioning of a modern state-of-the-art €200m production line at its cement plant at Platin, Co. Meath. The Kiln 3 project at Platin is integral to Irish Cement's proactive approach to the sustainable production of low carbon cements for the 21st century.Irish Cement has moved to a position where 80 per cent of its product portfolio is now made up of 'green' CEM II cements. These cements are produced by processing and then inter-grinding high quality, locally-available limestone with cement clinker in the final stage of cement production.
