UCC student wins IEI Biomedical Engineering Award for 2005

Niall MacCarthy, a PhD student at the Tyndall National Institute, University College Cork, has been awarded the IEI Biomedical Engineering Award for 2005. This national award, inaugurated in 2003, is given to PhD students who have made a significant contribution to the field of biomedical engineering research, as evidenced by the submission of a research paper and delivery of a presentation to a panel of expert judges. The award is an annual event of the Biomedical Division of IEI and is sponsored by Medtronic AVE.
