There is a quiet revolution tak ing place in the world of computer-aided engineering (CAE). With the introduction of graphics processors such as the Nvidia Tesla GPU, CAE developers can now off load some of the more compute-intensive parts of the CAE simulation calculations to these massively parallel graphics accelerators, slashing CAE solution times by up to 80 per cent in comparison to conventional multi-core CPUs.
