Samsung has ceased production of its Galaxy Note 7 following a spate of incidents that saw the device's battery overheat and cause damage to people and property. The company has told those with an original Galaxy Note 7 or replacement Galaxy Note 7 to power down and stop usage. Samsung unveiled the device on 2 August 2016 but by 1 September the company was offering consumers replacement devices or refunds following 35 incidents attributed to the smartphone's non-removable li-ion 3500mAh battery.
