Statoil installing energy storage with floating offshore wind pilot

In a novel move, Norwegian state-owned oil company Statoil will install a 1-megawatt-hour lithium-ion battery system to store excess generation from the pilot floating offshore wind farm it is building in Scotland with the aim of mitigating intermittency and optimizing output.
