The government will intervene if national policy statements (NPSs) fail to deliver sufficient renewables capacity, energy and climate minister Lord Hunt told MPs.rnAcknowledging fears raised by environmental campaigners of a new 'dash for gas [-fired power generation]' at the expense of renewable technologies (ENDS Report 420, p 13), he said: "I can assure the committee that if the fears that have been expressed by the NGOs look like they were coming about, then of course we would need to look at interventions."
