EPUK considers future air quality at conference

The government is committed to complying with EU limits on nitrogen oxides (NO_X), environment minister Lord Henley told Environmental Protection UK's (EPUK) annual air quality conference held on 4-5 April.1 His message contrasted sharply with that of transport minister Norman Baker. Speaking a week earlier at another EPUK conference on transport and public health, he indicated that the government was lobbying the European Commission on scrapping or weakening the annual mean limit on the toxic gas.
