EU found in breach of access to justice rules

Many western European governments thought that the main impact of the 1998 Aarhus Convention, concerning access to environmental information, public participation and access to justice, would be on the former eastern bloc countries where such rights were less developed in the law. That may well still be the case, but the significance of Aarhus continues to be felt throughout the EU.
