SCOTLAND STOPS SUBSIDIES FOR ELECTRICITY ONLY BIOMASS PLANTS

Scottish biomass plants with more than 15 megawatts of peak capacity will not receive Renewables Obligation (RO) support in future, the Scottish government has confirmed. From April, new plants above the threshold will not qualify for support unless they operate as more efficient combined heat and power (CHP) stations.
