UKAS ACCREDITS FIRST ISO 50001 CERTIFIER

NQA has become the first body accredited to certify energy management standard ISO 50001. The standard has been available since 2011 but the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS), which accredits most British certification bodies, has only just completed its pilot accreditation scheme. NQA has been certifying organisations to ISO 50001, and its predecessor BS EN 16001, since 2009. Its clients include Costa Coffee (ENDS Special Report: Green certified standards).
