MoJ abandons plan to limit judicial reviews

The justice department has bowed to the judiciary, lawyers and campaigners and dropped most of its plans to limit people's ability to launch judicial reviews. The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) will not go ahead with its controversial plan to restrict campaigners from challenging government decisions in court. It will no longer narrow the scope of who is eligible to take out a judicial review in England and Wales, it said on 6 February in a response to a consultation run last year (ENDS Report 464, P20).
