Dilley: EA likely to undergo further change

The Environment Agency (EA) is likely to face further organisational change, according to its chair Philip Dilley. Dilley was speaking before the House of Commons Environment Food and Rural Affairs (EFRA) committee for a one-off evidence session in February, along with outgoing chief executive Paul Leinster. Dilley noted that the EA had already shrunk its corporate and support activities as part of its reorganisation over the past year, which has involved significant budget and staffing cuts. Despite the huge upheaval, Dilley told MPs he was "pleasantly surprised" at the positive morale at EA during this period. But he said further change was "likely".
