Environment Agency closes climate change advice services

The Environment Agency's (EA) Climate Ready advice service, which helped councils and businesses prepare for flooding and other climate change impacts, has closed. No replacement appears to be planned for the service that helped many of the small businesses that were flooded last winter. Climate Ready also supported the Local Government Association's (LGA) Climate Local programme which encouraged councils to formally commit to action on climate change and reporting on their progress. Since its launch in 2012, 96 English councils had signed up.
