Seneca sales top the $1 bn mark

Sales at leading canner Seneca Foods Corporation, which produces brands such as Libby's and Read, grew to more than US$1 billion in the nine months to the end of December.And it could top $1.5bn at year end. The Marion, New York-based company, which sells canned and frozen foods across the US, completed the acquisition of fruit canner Independent Foods in January."We believe that these operations are a complementary fit with our existing canned fruit business," said Seneca chief executive Kraig Kayser.
