Sandford Orchards installs its first cider canning line

UK cider maker Sandford Orchards has installed its first canning line as part of a £1.2 million (US$1.65m) investment designed to meet increasing demand for its authentic ciders. Barny Butterfield, chief cider maker at the Crediton, Devon plant commented: "Whilst other businesses have retrenched during the last 12 months, we have taken the opportunity to press forward with our expansion plans buoyed by an ever-growing number of consumers who are looking for an antidote to the standard commercial cider brands.
