A while ago I invested in a Windows 8 tablet in my first foray into the mobile computing offering from Windows. Being a big Apple fan,and a daily user of iPad in my business life, it was a difficult transition to say the least. The model I opted for needed to be cost effective, light, and offer great battery life, so I opted for an Asus T100 transformer pad (under £350).This clever unit gives a touch screen windows pad with a detachable keyboard. With the ever improving Windows 8 platform as standard, now in its 8.1 version it makes great sense. Windows really launched 8 to allow users with touch screen devices to utilise the windows 7 platform. Unfortunately they changed the way Windows looks and feels so much that it made everything alien to the most of faithful user. Fortunately with the 8.1 release they appear to be getting back on track and have listened to the voice of the customer.
