摘要

One of the great challenges continuously being faced by the automotive repair industry is the frequent, often subtle, changes carmakers apply to new and facelift models. There may be time and cost implications associated with even the smallest updates that repair networks, whether main dealer or independent, are not always prepared for.The required data, training and new or special tools may not have been considered. All of this lengthens the repair cycle, often adding extra cost to the job. Prior awareness of new and changing vehicle features can be crucial to prevent unforeseen delays. One key aspect of Thatcham Research's work is to monitor new vehicle releases, and provide insight to the market that can help minimise the time and cost effects typical of unexpected changes in vehicle design and innovation.
