CABE MAKES ITS DEBUT AS CLIENT

Block Architecture is preparing to unveil its CABE-commis-sioned installation in Victoria Square, central Birmingham. The under-wraps construction - CABE's first ever design commission - will signal the opening of the watchdog's inaugural Climate Change Festival, to be held in the city from 31 May to 8 June. Matt Bell, director of campaigns at CABE, promised that the festival would 'turn the debate about climate change on its head'. Although Bell refused to divulge the nature of the winning design before it is erected on Saturday morning (31 May), he said it was a 'familiar object' that had been 'lifted from its usual home and into a city square'.
