The number of out-of-work architects has risen for the 16th month in a row and has now passed the 2,000 mark.rnAccording to the Office for National Statistics, 2,055 architects are claiming unemployment benefit, meaning that nearly seven per cent of all registered architects in the UK are currently on the dole.rnThe official number of benefit claims is six times higher than it was this time last year.rnThe rise in unemployment among architects appeared tornhave stabilised in June, when only 15 new claims were made. But figures revealed last week show that a further 275 architects have been forced into the dole queue since then.
