An unexpected tribute to the late Jimmy Savile, which included revelations about his method of selecting architects, came from a certain Dr Keith Walters of Norwich.Walters met the Leeds-born, silver-tracksuit-wearing philanthropist while working as a young doctor at the Spinal Injuries Unit at Stoke Mandeville Hospital.Savile, who was raising money for the unit, told Walters that when selecting architects for the project, he had not wanted anyone who 'had designed hospitals before because they may have [had] preconceived ideas'.
