Winners of the RA's Summer Exhibition

Birds Portchmouth Russum Architects has won the £10,000 architecture prize at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, sponsored by Lend Lease and supported by the AJ. The judges combined two submissions by the practice, one for a house in Wood Lane, north London, another for a scheme in Jersey, both of which, they said, 'elegantly described the designs [...] almost without words'. The jury included AJ editor Christine Murray; Paul Finch, chair of Design Council CABE; Daniel Labbad of Lend Lease and Piers Gough, RA who curated the show with Alan Stanton, RA.
