Building Official figures point to construction output in the UK shrinking more in the first quarter of 2012 than was previously predicted.rnThe Department for Business, Innovation and Skills revised its growth prediction for the sector downwards from -3 per cent to -4.8 per cent.rnThe official figures contrast markedly with the latest Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors construction market survey (see below), which shows construction activity edging up in the first three months of 2012.
