The University of Durham is seeking architect-led teams to design a new physics facility on its science campus (pictured). Shortlisted teams will submit designs for the 3,000m2 building, which must be cost-effective yet compatible with Durham's world heritage sites and will contain offices, social areas, research spaces and laboratories. [Requests to participate must be received by 13 March] The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat have offered a £12,500 award for research proposals relating to the world's urban habitats. These can relate to construction techniques, energy collection or any related architectural field and will be supported with funds from the CTBUH.
