Construction A shift from apartments to house building helped Barratt Developments boost turnover by 8 per cent during the six months to 31 December. During the same period in 2007, apartments accounted for 65 per cent of the company's revenue, compared to 31 per cent in 2011. The success was attributed to a mismatch in the relative supply and demand of apartments and housing. The company completed 5,198 homes in the last six months of 2011, compared to 4,832 during the same period in 2010. The first-half year results predicted a £950 million turnover. Group chief executive Mark Clare said: 'This has been yet another six months of good progress.'
