FCBS Eco-City building on site in China

Work has started on Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios' design (below) for an 11,000m~2 exemplar 'green' exhibition and office building for the huge Meixi Lake Eco-City in China. The practice, which posted a 12 per cent hike in turnover this week, was chosen ahead of UK practices Bogle Architects and Jefferson Sheard Architects to land the low-carbon Innovation Demonstration Building following a competitive process earlier this year. The scheme, for Beijing-based developer Franshion, has been designed to 'physically demonstrate innovative building technologies' to the public, as well as to achieve the 'highest standards in both BREEAM and China's 3 Star green building assessment'.
