The latest report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change has stressed the impact global warming will have on water resources, and with shortages becoming a yearly occurrence in the UK, the conservation of water is becoming ever more important. Domestic water use has doubled from 75 litres per person per day in 1960 to around 150 litres per person per day now. On average water used in bathroom and kitchen sinks makes up 25 per cent of the water used in the home. Much of this just goes straight down the plug hole without serving a useful purpose.
