Appendix: FuturePlan

摘要

Years of additions and reworking at the V&A have created complex floor plans at the V&A's South Kensington site. Aston Webb's works of 1899-1909, which established the museum's formal, street-facing frontages, can give the impression of being the exterior of one, monolithic building. In reality it's a wrap which encloses a labyrinth of volumes built at different times, with the changes of level, tricky plan and eccentric transitions that go with this. Consequently, any internal reorganisation at the V&A has to engage with this complexity.
