The easiest and neatest way to create a blinds bulkhead

To create a bulkhead above the ceiling a timber and plasterboard housing is formed, which is then made good and painted. While this traditional method does create some concealment for barrels, hardware and brackets, it does not make them totally inconspicuous and is a slow, labour-intensive process, which can take weeks to construct on a project. The involvement of many materials and wet trades means the traditional plasterboard bulkhead is not a clean or tidy construction, with the end result not providing a guarantee that the blinds will never fall down. Having said this, the standard bulkhead served its purpose, until a more advanced, safer, neater and cheaper system was created.
