The Pure Tension Pavilion is a portable, solar-powered tensile membrane structure commissioned by Volvo Auto Italia for the new Volvo V60, a plug-in hybrid vehicle. The experimental structure recharges a fully depleted car in 12 hours in optimum sun conditions and can be flat-packed to fit in the car boot and assembled in less than an hour.
