This issue features the first half of the 24-strong AJ Small Projects 2014 shortlist ranked in order of cost -cheapest first, most expensive last. The architects will present their schemes in front of our judging panel: FAT founder Sam Jacob, Simon Silver of Derwent London, Paul Reed of Marley Eternit, AJ acting editor Rory Olcayto and AJ Sustainability editor Hattie Hartman, at a live crit next month. The prize fund of £2,500 will be awarded at the judges' discretion. Shortlisted entries will be exhibited at the NLA from 20 March to 20 April, before heading to various locations around the country.
