BIM project application award - building

摘要

The use of building information modelling (BIM) on the National Craphene Institute scheme facilitated the delivery of a highly complex job within extremely tight timescales. The project is a new state of the art building to research and develop the use of graphene, an extremely strong and conductive material. The scale of BIM utilised on the scheme was significant with separate diagrams produced for all of the services, which were updated and shared fortnightly with the customer and project teams - fostering collaborative streamlined working. Fortnightly review meetings were held in the purpose built BIM Computer Aided Virtual Environment, where BIM diagrams for ways to improve on design were reviewed.
