Gareth Hoskins Architects has unveiled new images of a plan to convert one of Edinburgh's most sensitive landmarks, the historic Royal High School on Calton Hill, into a 147-room hotel. Responding to concerns from heritage groups about the initial colonnaded proposals (AJ 14.04.15), the revised, slightly smaller scheme features two 'organic' wings, splaying away from Thomas Hamilton's 1829 masterpiece. A planning application was submitted to Edinburgh City Council on Wednesday.
