John Simpson Architects has won a design competition for a £25 million regeneration of the Royal College of Music in South Kensington. The practice defeated Dixon Jones, John McAslan + Partners and ADAM Architecture to land the prestigious west London job, which will deliver a new raised open-air quad and two performance venues (pictured). Studio Octopi has won an invited competition to create a new lido at Peckham Rye in south-east London. The practice defeated west London-based architects Red Deer to win the commission. The project features a 50m heated pool surrounded by smaller natural pools and several single-storey pavilions housing a gym, cafe and community space. Shindesignworks has won a competition for an installation at Lough Gill, Republic of Ireland, inspired byWilliam ButlerYeats' 1892 poem The Lake Isle of Innisfree. The London and Daegu (South Korea)-based studio's 'Square Moon' proposal was chosen from 110 submissions and will be constructed in time for Yeats' 150th anniversary on 13 June.
