The Carmen Würth Forum, comprising a large events hall and a smaller hall for chamber music recitals, near Künzelsau, southern Germany, has been built for the Würth Group, one of the world's largest suppliers of tools and fastenings. Partially embedded in the landscape, two external spaces are cut into the hillside, flanked by retaining walls, made of in-situ concrete. The larger southern forecourt leads to the main entrance and foyer. Off this are the multi-purpose event hall with space for 3,500people, its upper gallery level glazed on all sides; and a walnut-clad chamber music hall seating up to 600 people.
