A room with a zoo

摘要

This project was conceived to enhance the musical prestige of the venue and the status of its resident orchestra, and to reinforce the reputation of the site as a thriving cultural destination. Seating 2,100 people, the new auditorium can be configured to stage different orchestral formats. The project includes a fully-serviced congress centre, which can operate independently or in conjunction with the hall. Crucially, the new buildings are functionally and spatially integrated with their historic architectural context and the adjoining zoo.
