These blocks of Italian Rosso Luana marble - from Vagli Sopra in the Tuscan province of Lucca - await the chisel of Peter Randall-Page at the Art Barn on the edge of Dartmoor in rural Devon, designed by his architectural designer son Thomas (see design study pages 40-54). The blocks undulate with Michelangelo's famous conviction that 'the sculpture is already complete within the marble block, before I start my work. It is already there, I just have to chisel away the superfluous material'.
