It is good to see a strong range ofCommunity buildings this year. Among thestandout projects, Reiach and Hall's Nucleusis a project quite unlike any other, andafter the enormous praise of theAJ Architecture Awards jurylast year, it is not surprisingto see it also recognisedhere - it's a project thatcould bring the practiceits fourth consecutiveStirling Prize shortlisting. Also recognised is MUMA's jewel in the North East Cambridge development's crown, the Storey's Field Centre, combining a community centre with a nursery school. Both deftly mix public and private roles, and with the market set to see a boom in large-scale mixed-use developments, there is a lot that can be taken from these schemes. JA
