The Corpus volume for the historic West Ridingnof Yorkshire is a welcome sight, so much so thatneven a Yorkshireman can forgive the title. Whynthe Corpus, elsewhere based on the historicncounties of England, should choose to renamenthe West Riding of Yorkshire is baffling; is thisnentertaining policy to be followed elsewhere? Benthat as it may, it is plain from the text that thenvolume is dealing with the West Riding, whosengrisly dismemberment is recorded in Table 1.
